ksKamal Sarma is the director of Rezilium, a strategic leadership firm. Kamal Sarma has had the unique opportunity of growing up with both Eastern and Western influences.

He led the life of a typical “Aussie kid” until the age of 13 when he was sent to finish his schooling in a monastery in India for 6 years. In the monastery, he studied many world religions including Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism, in addition to his training in meditation and yoga.

After leaving the monastery, Kamal returned to Australia to pursue an international business career in such industries as management consulting, biotechnology, venture capital and funds management.

He has held senior executive positions in organisations including McKinsey and Company, Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals, AMP Capital Investors and St. George Bank.

Kamal’s leadership journey started when his first daughter passed away. This was his emptying out moment. To deal with this challenge he asked many questions. He realized how much he did not know about leadership; about leading himself, let alone others. This came as quite a surprise — he had been to some of the best leadership programs at some of the world’s leading business schools.

Today, Kamal, in conjunction with Rezilium, helps individuals in organizations make the leadership leap.

He works wherever individuals, teams and countries need the skills to take their next step as leaders.

Kamal and Rezilium have been involved in communities around the world with many projects — raising funds to rescue child soldiers, and rescuing victims of sexual trafficking in Cambodia, Nepal and India.

All profits arising from the publication of this book will go to Maiti Nepal — an organization founded and run by Anuradha Koirala to help those victimized by sexual trafficking.

Kamal is author of the international bestseller Mental Resilience: The Power of Clarity. How to develop the focus of a warrior and the peace of a monk.
